The present invention is directed to an apparatus and method for collecting the discharged grass clippings of a lawn mower. The lawn mower includes a discharge opening at the lateral side or the rear side of the lawn mower. Grass clippings are directed through the discharge opening to a conveyor member, thereafter the clippings are deposited in a catcher. The present invention does not require a high speed air flow to discharge the grass clippings. Further, since the grass clippings are discharged by a conveyor member into the top opening of a catcher the level of grass clippings positioned in the catcher may readily be observed so that it is very easy to determine when the catcher should be emptied.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION The invention relates to agricultural machinery, in particular, to lawn mowers with pick-up devices.
A lawn mower is known, including a cutting apparatus placed in a housing with an outflow window, a device for transporting mowed grass located behind it, and a mowing grass catcher Cl.
A disadvantage of the known device is that it is ineffective at work, especially when mowing wet grass. The device is not very manoeuvrable, and unloading the cut grass from the catcher presents certain difficulties.
The purpose of the invention is to increase the efficiency of the mower.
The goal is achieved in that the device for transporting the cut grass is installed with a gap relative to the outflow window.
The catcher is made in the form of an open top 1.mk (), mounted behind a transporting device, and is removable on the lawn mower,

The lawn mower consists of a body frame 1 mounted on a pair
15 of the front wheels and a pair of rear wheels 2, The lower mower of the mower is open and is intended for mounting a cutting member (knife) in it, not shown in the drawings. On the island

The conveyor belt 6 is located between the drive shaft 7 and the rotary carrier shaft 8. The drive shaft 7 is mounted on the carrier frame 9. The belt 6 has, on its outer periphery, spaced apart from each other lateral stiffeners 10 protruding outwardly from the sides of the conveyor belt 6 are mounted walls 11. A pulley 12 is mounted on the drive shaft 7 and a pulley 13 is mounted on the bearing shaft 8. The bearing shaft 8 is installed at the outflow window (so that between them small gap. The conveyor belt is designed in such a way that it can be easily removable mounted at the outflow window. 4 According to the third embodiment, the conveyor has two parallel conveyor belts 6 rotatably mounted on the supporting frame 9. The catcher has the shape of a container of such a configuration as a hopper or bag with an open upper receiving opening. The receiving opening can be closed with a lid. The catcher is installed behind and below the conveyor and is removably mounted on the mower regardless of conveyor. The catcher is provided with frame 16. The catcher may be made entirely of metal or of synthetic material. Alternatively, the catcher may consist of a separate support frame 16 and a container part 17 made of flexible fabric or synthetic resin, which is mounted on frame 16. In one of Variants of the proposed device, the container part 17 can be made of inexpensive material, removable mounted on the frame 16. In this embodiment, the container part 17 can be thrown away with Passing grass cut in it after the end of lawn mowing. In the fourth embodiment, the lower part of the catcher is provided with rollers or bearing elements 18 for reducing the load acting on the frame 16 of the catcher. In addition, the rollers or carriers 1–8 contribute to reducing the load on the tail end of the mower. A catcher equipped with rollers or carrying elements 18 can be detachably mounted on the tail end of the conveyor. According to the fifth embodiment, the outflow window is installed on the side of the mower, the conveyor belt and catcher are removably mounted at the outlet window. The device works as follows. When moving the mower on the surface to be treated, the grass cut by the knife is fed through the outflow port k to the conveyor belt 6, which supplies the bevelled mass to the container part 17, which is periodically unloaded. The proposed device is relatively simple in construction. Due to the fact that the conveyor belt is placed at the outflow window for collecting and transporting the cut grass, it can be freely adapted for mounting on conventional mowers.
The proposed device, according to which the conveyor belt is placed near the tail end of the lawn mower, does not adversely affect the efficiency of its work and does not create a danger in the process of mowing the grass. The advantages of the proposed device are that its design does not use high-speed air flow. In addition, the mower makes a complete collection of grass, even if it is used in the garden area. In addition, by using a conveyor belt located at the outflow window to collect the mowed grass, and directing it to the catcher, which has an opening at the top, the collection is mowed grass can be easily and conveniently produced by the amount of grass stored in the container. Due to the fact that the catcher is removably connected to the mower, the proposed device can conveniently
stored and easy to transport.

1.
